What is it?
A PrimusGFS certification It is an international food safety audit and certification program recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), widely applied in the production chain of fresh produce and plant-based foods.
The protocol was developed based on the principles HACCP from the Codex Alimentarius and establishes requirements for evaluating the practices of food safety, management systems, preventive controls, traceability, operational hygiene, and legal compliance throughout the different stages of food production and handling.
The objective of PrimusGFS is to assist producers and food industry companies in identification, prevention, and control of hazards that may compromise food safety, strengthening risk management and the reliability of production processes.
Who is it indicated for?
The protocol is applicable to operations such as:
- Open-field crop production;
- Cultivation in a controlled environment, such as greenhouses, hydroponics, vertical farming, and mushroom production.;
